Mission
Cornell DEBUT is an engineering project team dedicated to developing innovative solutions to unmet needs in healthcare while providing undergraduates with hands-on experience in biomedical design and innovation. Through a two-year project cycle, our teams identify biomedical challenges, research and develop novel solutions, and design, prototype, and test functional medical devices. Projects culminate in submissions to national biomedical design competitions, including VentureWell’s DEBUT Challenge and the Medtronic Student Design Competition. Beyond device development, DEBUT also explores opportunities for commercialization, entrepreneurship, and continued project growth to help translate student innovation into meaningful real-world impact.

Founded in 1972, EARS (Empathy, Assistance & Referral Service) is a student-led organization that promotes mental health and well-being for everyone in the Cornell community, including undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty.

Mission
Cornell University Emergency Medical Service (CUEMS) strives to provide professional,
efficient, and effective first-response basic life support care to the Ithaca campus and
surrounding areas. Serving Cornell students, faculty, staff, visitors, and their families,
CUEMS responds to all 911 calls for medical assistance twenty-four hours a day, seven
days per week during the academic year. CUEMS provides extensive, weekly training to
all squad members consisting of New York State certified emergency medical
technicians. Moreover, CUEMS offers training to the entire Cornell community in
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillation, first aid, and activation
of emergency medical services. Working together with other emergency services from
Cornell University and Tompkins County, CUEMS provides a valuable resource to the
Ithaca campus and much of the surrounding Tompkins County community.

Cornell Minds Matter (CMM) promotes mental health awareness and emotional well-being for all Cornell students. We work to reduce the stigma of mental illness by holding educational events and creating safe spaces to foster a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

CMM acts as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and administration to advocate for the student perspective on mental health resources and campus policies. Through our project teams and G-Body members, we continue to provide accessible resources that serve the needs of our diverse living-learning community.
