Cornell Outdoor Education develops teamwork, leadership, and growth through outdoor experience.

We do so by:

Cornell Outdoor Education serves the broad membership of the Cornell community: students and student instructors, faculty and staff, alumni and friends, local community and outside groups. We enhance academic performance and success in the workplace by developing leadership, teamwork and personal achievement through experience-based education in the outdoor environment at Cornell University and around the world.

Cornell Outdoor Education programs place participants into hands-on learning situations that promote honest and constructive assessment of individual and group performance, provide natural and immediate consequences to actions, and promote personal growth. Our programs encourage participants to gain a sense of perspective in their own lives, and build support networks that develop meaningful lifelong friendships. Finally, we include fun with learning. By integrating these experiences into the rich academic curriculum and physical setting of our University, Cornell Outdoor Education plays a unique and vitally important role in developing the Leaders of the 21st Century.

Mission
Cornell Recreational Services offers a wide variety of fitness, wellness, sports and open recreation activities for Cornell students, staff, faculty, retirees and their spouses/partners. Through our broad-based programs, we try to promote a healthy and holistic lifestyle throughout the campus community.

Recreational Services encompasses the Cornell Fitness Centers, Helen Newman Bowling Center, Helen Newman Hall Recreation Center, Intramural Sports, Noyes Community Recreation Center, and the Cornell University Wellness Program. The mission of the Gender Equity Resource Center (GenEq) is to foster a more vibrant campus community by supporting the full and active participation of women and gender expansive students in both their personal and educational pursuits at Cornell. The Center champions endeavors that support women's education, empowerment, and advancement at Cornell and beyond.

GenEq strives to be a welcoming space for people of all genders and identities. We especially encourage women of color, Black feminists/womanists, queer and trans folks, and people with disabilities to drop by, attend our programming, apply for co-sponsorships, and speak with us about your concerns.

Mission
-To provide students, particularly those afflicted with seasonal affected disorder (SAD), with light therapy services
-Giving students access to Happy Lights for up to 30 minutes (students will know their 30 minutes are complete because they will be provided with a timer) during daylight hours, prior to which they will read over a liability waiver created by Cornell RM
-After students use the Happy Light and are returning them, have students fill out a short survey so as to collect data for future projects regarding Cornell's student mental health
-Test the success of this program, with the goal of potentially expanding the project to the establishment of an Inner Resource Room for students to promote mental health well-being
