Jon Schuldt, Professor in the department of Communication, is the new Faculty-in-Residence for Dickson Hall and McLLU. He lives in an apartment in the building and regularly spends time with student members of the Dickson and McLLU community.

Hi! My name is Vegen and I am a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Statistical Science. I will also be completing my MPS in Applied Statistics concurrently this year. I am an international student from the beautiful island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean (Google it!). As a freshman, I lived in Dickson too (3-5) and it truly was a memorable year. I have been an RA in the Low Rise 6 community for the past 2 years, and I’m excited to move back to Dickson now as your SRA. I’m happy to get to meet you all and help you out as you adjust to college life. I love Cornell, even when it's snowing. I really enjoy cooking, and also, I'm a native French speaker, so feel free to say bonjour whenever you see me. With that, I am excited for a great year with you all.

My name is Zain Mehdi and I am a premed student, double majoring in Biology and English in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and love the Steelers. On campus, I am a Tanner Dean Scholar and am an E-Board member for the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board (CURB) and Cornell's Global Medical and Dental Brigades (GMDB). I am also a staff member for the Cornell Daily Sun and am a Physics Undergraduate TA and Biology Student Advisor. I also love doing research, working in Dr. Andrew Clark's lab at Cornell and Dr. Stephen F. Badylak's lab at the University of Pittsburgh.

Hey, y’all! My name is Skyla Carmon, I’m from Houston, Texas, and I’m a sophomore in the school of Human Ecology. I’m majoring in Human Development (with a minor in creative writing) and am pursuing a career in marriage counseling and adult therapy. In other words, if you need advice or someone to listen to you after a rough day, don’t hesitate to knock on my door :) Aside from academics, I am involved with many volunteer organizations on campus including Cornell Traditions, B.O.S.S., Diversity Outreach, Into the Streets, and hopefully more this upcoming school year. I’m also a Library Student Assistant at Mann Library and run a hair braiding business when I have free time. I’m so excited to meet you guys and hope to build great, new relationships with you all!

Hey guys, I’m Rob and I’m a junior from Los Angeles, CA majoring in Environmental & Sustainability Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) with minors in Architecture, Climate Change and Development Sociology. Besides being an RA, I’m a sustainability consultant for the Smithsonian Institute through my project team Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD), a member of the professional sustainability Fraternity Epsilon Eta, a CALS Ambassador and Peer Mentor, a facilitator for The Intergroup Dialogue Project, and will be getting involved in Plant Science/Horticulture research in the on-campus greenhouses this semester. This past summer I interned with the Environmental Defense Fund’s Clean Energy Department through an Engaged Cornell program—there’s so many opportunities here at Cornell and I am excited to share them and get to know all of you this year!

I'm a member of the Touchtones all-female a cappella group, and I love to sing and arrange music. I have a passion for sustainability and was the sustainability subcommittee chair of the Rutgers University Student Assembly and continued this passion at Cornell by joining Cornell Sustainability Consultants. Aside from CSC, on campus, I am involved in Cornell Business Analytics, Hotel Ezra Cornell and Female Leadership in Hospitality. Outside of Cornell, I have been volunteering with the Red Cross for over six years, and I’m currently serving on the American Red Cross National Youth Council as Vice Chair.
