Welcome

Welcome to the Clara Dickson Hall community page!  Dickson is the largest residence hall on Cornell's North Campus, housing over 540 students. This includes the students of the Multicultural Living Learning Unit (McLLU).  McLLU is one of Cornell's eleven Program Houses.  McLLU is housed on part of the second floor, and the first floor of our building (which is known as the Dickson/McLLU Complex).  The Complex is centrally located on North Campus near two dining halls, two gyms, the RPCC Service Center, and right next to a popular sand volleyball court!

One unique aspect about the Complex is that it is divided into two units, the "5 side" and the "6 side." If you are ever playing Cornell trivia game, and need to know why that is, here is the answer!  Balch Hall, the Complex's neighbor, is split up into Units 1-4.  Dickson is a continuation of that numeration, being split up into Units 5 and 6.  Knowing the Complex is laid out this way will help you get oriented faster when you move in.

The Complex is served by a large staff who will help you get acclimated, provide ongoing support, and offer fun and educational programs all year long. Our staff includes: 1 Residence Hall Director (RHD), 1 Senior Resident Advisor (SRA), 14 Dickson Resident Advisors (RAs), and 2 McLLU Resident Advisors.

In addition to the many hall-wide programs that are offered throughout the year, we have a resident run leadership organization that is shared by Dickson and McLLU known as the Complex Hall Council or CHC (formally known as the DHC or Dickson Hall Council).  Students are nominated to serve as representatives for their floor, and also have the opportunity to run for executive positions within the Council.  We welcome you to join us in these and other opportunities!
