The Interfaith Council (ICC) Flex Fund’s primary purpose is to enable ICC-funded student organizations to host initiatives that would intentionally encourage interfaith exchange/dialogue/education and support spirituality and meaning-making on campus.
Priorities: Interfaith activities, initiatives supporting marginalized/minority communities or events that would strain or drain the organizations’ ICC funding allocation. All flex fund decisions are ultimately under the discretion of the ICC e-board.
Only groups who receive an annual allocation from ICC are eligible to apply for the ICC Flex Fund.
The initiative must fall under one or more of the following categories:
- The initiative is collaborative between 2 or more groups (preferably of different religious traditions).
- If intrafaith (within one faith community), the initiative is exceptional in nature – not attached to regular programming or practices.
- The initiative is educational in purpose and nature – groups will learn about each other and/or engage across differences.
- The initiative or organization meets ICC’s priorities, listed in the introduction.
ICC strongly prefers on-campus and local events. If you need to rent a Cornell vehicle, reach out to ICC liaison.
The initiative must met the following requirements:
- Funding request must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the event or date the funding is needed, whichever comes first
- Explicitly tied to religion/spirituality – not solely political or cultural
- If an event or program, promoted widely, including Campus Groups and the OSMM/CURW Newsletter
- If an event or program, distinct from the organization’s regular programming
- If an event or program, open to all Cornell community members
- If you are requesting more than $5,000, then send a representative from your E-Board to the ICC E-Board meeting (Thursdays 4:45-5:45pm in Anabel Taylor Hall 122, or zoom link upon request)
