Students will evaluate beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats from both a phenotypic and genotypic
standpoint to determine the potential productivity and value of livestock within their respective
segments of the industry. Students will understand how different physical traits are prioritized
based on the function of each species and sex class, including how value is determined from
meat and carcass evaluation. Pedigree and other genetic data will also be analyzed to accompany
live evaluation and infer the potential merit of individual livestock as pieces in a breeding
system. Lastly, students will also create and deliver oral reasons to support and validate their
evaluation of livestock.

Cornell Design Build Fly is a student-run project team which develops, tests and optimizes a
custom radio-controlled aircraft to compete in the annual AIAA Design Build Fly competition.
The team is comprised of the Aerodynamics and Controls, Mechanical, and Propulsion
subteams. Each year the team works to produce an aircraft that meets the unique mission
requirements of that year’s competition. The team’s success is predicated upon it’s innovative
design approach, use of cutting edge rapid prototyping methods, and the creativity of our
dedicated members. Cornell DBF trains members to apply theoretical coursework to formulate
novel engineering solutions to complex design challenges.

Silicon CMOS chips are at the heart of every modern computing device from the smallest Internet-of Things (IoT) device to the largest supercomputer. Unfortunately, undergraduate students currently do not have any opportunity to actually go through the process of fully specifying, designing, implementing, testing, fabricating, and evaluating a computer chip. Undergraduates leave Cornell thinking that fabricating computer chips is only possible at huge companies like Intel, AMD, NVIDIA and Apple. Until recently, there was no realistic hands-on way for students to, experience the complete computer chip design process. At the same time, exposing students to the beauty of computer chip design has never been more important, since the slowing of CMOS technology scaling means computer system designers must increasingly rely on specialized computer chips for continued improvements in performance and/or energy efficiency.
How can students (from freshmen to seniors) gain hands-on computer chip design experience? The answer lies in the recent explosion in open-source chip design tools, open-source chip implementations, open-source process design kits, and low-cost computer chip fabrication services. Just as open-source software has democratized software design, open-source hardware is poised to democratized hardware design. In addition to open source hardware, changes in IP control regulations have enabled students to utilize older, commercial design kits. Universities are also uniquely poised to access cutting-edge commercial design tools, enabling student-led designs to be made with these ever more accessible design kits. Due to a combination of both the accessibility of open-source, and the power of industry tools, IC design has never before been so available to interested undergraduates.

The Cornell Custom Silicon Systems (C2S2) Project Team is a new project team traditionally funded
through the Shen Fund for Social Impact, as well as commercial (AMD, Cadence) and government
(Sandia National Labs, NORDTECH) sponsorships. The team is leveraging this emerging open and
closed-source hardware ecosystems to enable undergraduate students to specify, design, implement, test, fabricate, and evaluate custom computer chips. The final outcome will be a custom computer chip integrated on a custom circuit board with a complete software stack targeting an important application domain. This ambitious student-led team is likely unique across US universities, and will hopefully inspire a new generation of computer system designers.

Cornell University Emergency Medical Service (CUEMS) strives to provide professional,
efficient, and effective first-response basic life support care to the Ithaca campus and
surrounding areas. Serving Cornell students, faculty, staff, visitors, and their families,
CUEMS responds to all 911 calls for medical assistance twenty-four hours a day, seven
days per week during the academic year. CUEMS provides extensive, weekly training to
all squad members consisting of New York State certified emergency medical
technicians. Moreover, CUEMS offers training to the entire Cornell community in
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillation, first aid, and activation
of emergency medical services. Working together with other emergency services from
Cornell University and Tompkins County, CUEMS provides a valuable resource to the
Ithaca campus and much of the surrounding Tompkins County community.

JazzPlus encourages its members to carry on the deeply rooted histories and traditions of jazz, while simultaneously augmenting them through inspiration from other genres. While many members of the organization participate in department jazz ensembles, JazzPlus is open to everyone.

JazzPlus presents workshops and clinics to musicians and listeners of the Cornell and Ithaca communities. Topics of discussion may include but are not limited to: jazz style, technique, composition, fundamentals, improvisation, history, culture, and performance. JazzPlus will sponsor a lecture series with guest artists from outside of the area as well as from the local community.

The Cornell Rocketry Team designs, manufactures and tests a high-powered rocket
every year for competition in the Spaceport America Cup. We travel to IREC in Midland, TX to compete against 150 other collegiate teams from 22 different countries. The
primary goal at competition is to launch the rocket to exactly 10,000 feet using our
Student Research and Developed (SRAD) hybrid rocket motor. Every year, our rocket
carries with it a unique scientific payload that leverages the high altitude or high
acceleration environment onboard the rocket. The team designs and manufactures
almost every part of the rocket in house, making use of a variety of lab spaces on
campus.

The Slope Day Programming Board serves as an organization through which students work with faculty, staff, and other community members in all colleges, departments, and divisions to plan and promote Slope Day. The Board promotes a day that fosters a safe and healthy environment with multiple social and recreational options. The group recruits and trains students for Slope Day to assist with monitoring, entertainment, food and beverage distribution, and other activities. The group will be responsible for use of appropriated student funds, pursuant to guidelines established by the Student Assembly, and partake in the University's efforts through cooperation and coordination with its departments through the Slope Day Steering Committee. Students Against the Sexual Solicitation of Youth (SASSY) was founded in 2007 through a Cornell Alternative Breaks trip since 2003, is committed to raising awareness and transforming public perception of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). SASSY works directly with Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS), a non-profit agency in New York City, whose mission is to "empower girls and young women, ages 12–24, who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking to exit the commercial sex industry and develop to their full potential. GEMS is committed to ending commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking by changing individual lives, transforming public perception, and revolutionizing the systems and policies that impact commercially sexually exploited youth."

SASSY has engaged with the Cornell community while maintaining and strengthening its relationship with and support for GEMS. SASSY has hosted several workshops, discussions, and movie screenings for the Cornell community.
