🍁 September 2024 🍁
Welcome to an exciting 2024 Fall semester, first-generation Trailblazers! If you are new, we at First-Generation & Low-Income Student Support are excited to have you join our Trailblazer community. If you are returning, welcome back to another beautiful day at Cornell.
As a first-gen student, you have proven visionary and leadership skills by setting on a path that was not charted for you. You are independent and able to figure things out on your own. You are able to set goals and accomplish them by becoming accepted into a top Ivy League institution. You are bringing with you a wealth of knowledge from navigating barriers some of your peers may not have encountered. But you are not doing it alone. Nearly 20% of our Cornellians are first-generation students. That is why we are launching our inaugural newsletter to help you stay connected to this vibrant community. Whether you’re new to campus or returning for another year, we’re here to support you on your journey.
This newsletter is your go-to source for events, resources, and tips tailored specifically for our first-generation community. Our goal? To help you thrive in every aspect of your college experience. We can’t wait to see you at our events and hear about the amazing things you’ll accomplish this semester. Let’s make this year your best yet!
