Invitation To: Shabbat Evening with Grinspoon Hillel

Curious about other religious practices? You don’t have to go alone! “Invitation To:” is an event series that invites you to attend and participate in diverse religious and spiritual offerings across the Cornell campus. This is a great opportunity to attend other's practices (without going alone!) to gain interfaith understanding and to make connections with people who practice and believe differently than you do.

Those who attend the most “Invitation to:” religious practices this semester will win exclusive merch! Make sure to scan the QR code to check in on CampusGroups at each event.

Friday night Shabbat services with Kehilat Shevach ("Congregation Shevach"), Cornell's egalitarian Jewish prayer quorum. Newcomers will observe and, to their comfort, participate in Jewish prayer services with the Shevach community. Friday night services include the special Kabbalat Shabbat service, to welcome in the Sabbath, as well as Arvit, the evening service, for Shabbat. Between these two services will be an icebreaker and a brief sermon. All are always welcome. Prayer and singing will be in Hebrew; liturgical instruction (page announcements, minor ritual choreography, etc.) in English.
