Startup Consulting at Cornell is a student organization that advises startups across a diverse range of industries and functional areas. Through semester-long projects, our members learn valuable strategy consulting skills while driving a tangible impact on startups.
Each of our new members undergo a comprehensive 7-week new member development series, encompassing fundamentals such as resume and cover letter crafting, as well as case studies and complex consulting frameworks. New members will have numerous opportunities to enhance their public speaking and networking abilities. Our program is designed to cultivate a well-rounded skill set, equipping new members to thrive in the field of their choice.
Beyond work, SCC members form lasting relationships with one another. New members get to know each other better through new member socials, and we have recently begun hosting social events for the entire organization. Additionally, our graduates stay in touch to provide mentorship within their respective fields.
Our projects provide an excellent avenue to practice and refine the skills gained from the professional development series. Members have the opportunity to work on projects modeled after real-world consulting engagements, while also learning about the operations of an innovative startup. Our clients’ give us insights into how their respective industry functions along with detailed feedback on how to improve our deliverables. These hands-on experiences with industry are extremely hard to come across at the undergraduate level.
In Spring 2024, SCC will be launching a new series of speaker events, in which we will host entrepreneurs to share their story and advice for students over Zoom. Our members will receive an opportunity to learn from entrepreneurs in our network of Cornell alumni as well as past and current clients.
