Public Event Fund (PEF) guidelines
- A maximum of $5,000 may be allocated per event; the total amount is based on the need specified in the application.
- Public event funds may be used up to twice an academic year in addition to your allocated spending tier cap.
- Events should be open for all members of the Cornell community to enjoy.
- If attendance is not free, the cost of admission must be justified. In other words, tickets may be priced no higher than $3 each for any given event.
- Events must take place on campus or be accessible from campus
- Events must be posted on CampusGroups, 25 Live Events details shared, and marketing materials and initiatives shared with SAFC before reviewing any funding application (such materials will be asked for in this form).
- You must complete the entire application accurately to be considered for funding.
- SAFC consultants would love to attend the event in support, if timing permits. Please ensure that you connect directly with your SAFC consultant.
- SAFC will fund giveaways/prizes up to $75 and up to 8 distinct prizes per public event.
Click here to apply. This application closes April 10th at 10am (events may still take place after April 10th)
Additional note: Once your PEF application has been approved OR you have received notice from an officer or consultant that it will be approved, please go ahead and submit payment requests. Even though the funds will not yet be in your CampusGroups Accounting book, this will allow quicker reimbursements.
Collaboration Details: If your student organization is collaborating with another student organization, SAFC may fund you in two ways: 1) One organization handles all finances and expenses. In this scenario, only that club is responsible for submitting the PEF form. 2) The partner organization splits expenses and finances. In this scenario, both organizations are responsible for submitting PEF applications for their organization's specific expenses. Additionally, clubs are responsible for indicating that they have collaborated with another club on their PEF.
