PAST EVENTS
We regularly host events and fundraisers to engage the Cornell community!
There are many ways to get involved in community service through the Homelessness Action Project at Cornell. We have volunteer opportunities for a wide variety of interests, skills, and commitment availability. Why not lend a hand?
Threads of Hope Project
The Threads of Hope Project collects new and gently used shoes, clothing, and winter gear (gloves, hats, scarves, etc.) for all ages and sizes. Donations of reusable bags would also be appreciated. All donations directly help individuals and families in need in Ithaca/Tompkins County. Thank you for your generosity!
Our collection efforts are currently on pause and will resume at the start of the Fall 2026 semester.

Our members packed menstrual products for donation to Serenity House, operated by St. John’s Community Services in Ithaca.

Splash! at Cornell Fall 2025 is an immersive day on Cornell’s campus where students in grades 7–12 explore subjects driven by curiosity and passion. Members of our Advocacy & Education Committee led a session exploring topics such as how urban environments and government policies influence patterns of homelessness.

We accepted unopened/unused or gently used items, including: tops, bottoms, jackets, sweaters, shoes, and belts. Items were only available for trade with pieces from our inventory if participants brought one of the listed items. All remaining clothing from the event were donated to The Village at Ithaca.
