About Us

The mission of the Global Development Student Advisory Board is to build a community of students who possess a passion for uniting critical scholarship and practice at the intersections of agricultural, environmental, life, and social sciences, to advance a more equitable, sustainable, and food-secure world for all. Side-by-side with our diverse network of global and community partners, we demonstrate our commitment to inclusion, innovation, and furthering the study and practice of global development. We embrace a transdisciplinary approach that emphasizes real-world engagement on a global scale — with communities in New York State, across the United States, and around the world. Board members include students interested in a variety of related career fields, who are eager to work as an interdisciplinary team. Board members serve as a voice for students in the department of Global Development, relaying student wishes and desires regarding curriculum, advisement, and other department initiatives.
