Cindy Mosqueda

Cindy Mosqueda (she/her) is passionate about serving historically underrepresented students in higher education, specifically in STEM fields. As a first-generation college student and Chicana, she identifies closely with many of the students she works in the Diversity Programs in Engineering Office.

Since 2015, she has served as the Associate Director of DPE where she leads programs to prepare undergraduate students for graduate school (LSAMP Scholars and REU) and pre-college summer programs. She also advises the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and SACNAS. Prior to joining DPE, she worked at UCLA where she coordinated academic support and research programs and directed a student-initiated and student-run retention program.

Cindy was born and raised in Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in Chicana/o Studies and Sociology and an M.A. in Education with a focus on Higher Education and Organizational Change both from UCLA. When not working, Cindy enjoys running after her two children, watching streaming shows with her husband Sean, reading, working on puzzles, and cheering for the Dodgers despite late-night playoff games.
