Dr. Sophia Scholl (they/them) is a therapist at Cornell Health, Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). In this role, they support students in navigating the complexities of university life, offering therapy, consultation, and outreach.
Sophia’s approach to therapy is integrative, weaving together feminist theory, psychodynamic understanding, and trauma-informed care within a deeply collaborative, client-centered framework. Their work invites students to explore the emotional and relational patterns that shape self-understanding and connection with others, fostering greater awareness, authenticity, and healing.
As a member of the Latine and LGBTQ+ communities, Sophia is passionate about supporting students whose identities and experiences exist at the intersections of culture, belonging, and self-discovery. Their clinical interests include intersectional identity development, complex and developmental trauma, the spectrum of dissociative experiences, anxiety, interpersonal dynamics, grief, and the ongoing search for meaning.
Outside of their professional life, Sophia can often be found playing with their 2 kids, writing or blogging about psychology and philosophy, immersing themselves in a D&D campaign, or baking without a recipe while hoping for the best. They are also a dedicated practitioner of rest and the art of doing nothing.
Sophia enjoys being an LLC Fellow because it allows them to build authentic relationships with students and contribute to a community rooted in care, connection, and shared growth.
