About Us

The purpose of the Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter shall be: 1. To enhance the professional and social interaction between undergraduate and graduate students with interest in the fields of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences pertaining to economic geology; 2. Provide a medium to connect students, with interests in economic geology, to career professionals with the motivation of allowing students to network and explore different career options before graduation; 3. Support the advancement of the science of geology through investigation of mineral resources and mineral deposits, and the application of these investigations to mineral extraction, mining, exploration, and mineral resource appraisal.
