Dues Explanation

Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 Dues

Racing Dues: $100 (inclusive of social + training dues)

Social + Training Dues: $20

What Do the Dues Cover?

Racing, Social + Training Tier ($100)

Racing dues are designed to fully support your triathlon racing experience, training, and social events, covering:

Race Fees: Full reimbursement for the team race entry fees.

Accommodation: Airbnb costs for race weekends.

Transportation: Rides to and from races. The only transportation costs you may be asked to cover are your portion of gas for races and travel to Nationals.

Priority Access: First priority for discounts for race registration, team equipment, and other resources.

Community Benefits: Access to training schedules, group runs/rides/swims, and our GroupMe/listserv.

Formals & Social Events: Participation in our end-of-semester formals and other social events throughout the semester, such as date nights and our Friendsgiving potluck. There are sometimes additional entry fees for formal, so we can make it the best experience possible, but this never exceeds $20.

Special Activities: Access to activities like group spin classes (when it is too cold to ride outside), game nights, and more throughout the semester.

This dues tier ensures you’re fully prepared and supported throughout the racing season, with minimal out-of-pocket costs on race days.

Social + Training Dues ($20)

Social dues are your ticket to all the fun and social aspects of the team, as well as training, including:

Community Benefits: Access to training schedules, group runs/rides/swims, and our GroupMe/listserv.

Formals & Social Events: Participation in our end-of-semester formals and other social events throughout the semester, such as date nights and our Friendsgiving potluck. There are sometimes additional entry fees for formal, so we can make it the best experience possible, but this never exceeds $20.

Special Activities: Access to activities like group spin classes (when it is too cold to ride outside), game nights, and more throughout the semester.

These dues help us build a strong, connected team in and out of training.

Other FAQ:

How often are social events?

We aim to have at least one major social event each month, such as team parties, date nights, formals, and a Friendsgiving potluck, plus weekly team building activities, such as group dinners, bowling, and game nights. Social dues cover your participation in all these events, including spin classes during the chilly months.

What if I can’t make it to every practice or event?

We understand that everyone has different schedules, and there’s no requirement to attend every practice or event. Participate as much as you can, and we’ll support you in reaching your goals at your own pace!!

What other costs should I expect throughout the year?

Aside from the dues, there may be costs for personal gear like swimsuits, goggles, running shoes, and cycling equipment, as well as for meals (such as your portion of the team dinner). Participation in Nationals requires an additional cost for flight purchases and bike transport. However, the majority of expenses for races, travel, and social events are covered by your dues.

How do I pay my dues?

Dues can be paid via Venmo. Details will be provided at the start of the semester, or you can reach out to the treasurer (tr382@cornell.edu) for more information.
