Eco House exists to further sustainability, animal welfare, plant cultivation and appreciation, ingenuity, environmental education, inclusivity, and community. Cultivating a positive social community which fosters a passion for plants and teaches the value of horticulture.

Hortus Forum has a key role in providing educational experiences beyond the classroom and teaching the Cornell community about plants. This includes but is not limited to: field trips, presentations and workshops, promotion of internships, career development opportunities, and social events.

Plant sales are a necessary function of the organization; they are a means of generating revenue, and are utilized as learning opportunities and outreach.

Although plant sales primarily encompass ornamental plants, Hortus Forum represents the breadth horticulture and includes opportunities for engaging with a diversity of plant-based experiences.

The purpose of the Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter shall be:
1. To enhance the professional and social interaction between undergraduate and graduate students with interest in the fields of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences pertaining to economic geology;
2. Provide a medium to connect students, with interests in economic geology, to career professionals with the motivation of allowing students to network and explore different career options before graduation;
3. Support the advancement of the science of geology through investigation of mineral resources and mineral deposits, and the application of these investigations to mineral extraction, mining, exploration, and mineral resource appraisal.
