Board members include students interested in a variety of related career fields, who are eager to work as an interdisciplinary team. Board members serve as a voice for students in the department of Global Development, relaying student wishes and desires regarding curriculum, advisement, and other department initiatives.

The recently rechristened International Students Association (ISA), previously the International Students Union (ISU) and International Students Board (ISB) is an organization of students from a diverse background committed to promoting dialogue and awareness about world events, cultures and issues. We fulfill this goal through the ISA's original events and the funding of student organizations, as well as assisting in the planning and execution of their events. The ISA believes that the university environment offers a unique opportunity for the interaction of ideas and opinions. The prestige and resources of Cornell University allow us to plan major events and to hear from influential speakers, and we are committed to fulfilling this potential. Further, the ISA encourages all student groups to approach the Board with ideas and suggestions concerning events or speakers they would like to see on campus. The International Students Association is also committed to student advocacy, focusing on issues that affect international and diverse students. These projects can be in response to long-term concerns, current global events, or changes in policies by the university's administration. The ISA does not take any political stance on issues but we support the right of student organizations to present these issues to the Cornell Community.

The Minority ILR Student Organization (MILRSO) provides social, academic, and pre-professional support to its members. Open to all students, MILRSO facilitates a cross-cultural dialogue that addresses the experiences of underrepresented identities in the workplace. For MILRSO, underrepresented identities include: people of color, the LGBTQ community, non-conforming persons, women, or gender. Wanawake Wa Wari was originally founded in 1968 by a group of Black women who felt the need for an atmosphere that promoted self-awareness and personal confidence. Since that time Wari has served as a place where women of African descent have prepared for the world academically, culturally, and socially. It has also provided an atmosphere where women feel comfortable to deal with the issues that relate to their lives and history in the Ithaca community and beyond. We are striving to continue this tradition.

Watermargin was founded in 1947 by a group of World War II veterans who shared the purpose of promoting understanding between people of different races and religious affiliations. Over the years, the focus has expanded to encompass all intergroup relations. In the 1960's, Watermargin went co-ed, leading to a change in the motto from "All Men are Brothers" to "All People are Family."
