The purpose of Anthropology Graduate Student Association shall be to represent the interests of graduate students in the Anthropology PhD and CIAMS MA programs in relation to the Department, Graduate Field, and University, keep records of graduate student activities and concerns for future cohorts, and help foster community among graduate students.

Background and Mission: Despite their increasing presence in the collegiate environment, non-traditional students (NTS) are often overlooked and misunderstood, especially at the graduate level, with universities primarily catering to the needs of traditional students and lacking NTS support services. The definition of an NTS may vary, but a generally agreed upon definition for a non-traditional graduate student is someone who may be older (e.g., 25 years or older) than their fellow students and/or took a detour, rather than a direct route, from undergraduate to graduate school. This definition is inclusive of students who:
• Had a previous career/job before going back to school
• Are parents and/or have dependents
• Are caretakers
• Are military service members/veterans
• Employed full-time and/or goes to school part-time
• And/or financially independent

As we march towards a more inclusive environment within veterinary medicine, it is vital to support non-traditional DVM, MPH, and PhD students. Thus, the Association for Non-traditional Students (ANTS) aims to create a sustainable support network for non-traditional DVM, MPH, and PhD students at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). ANTS’ values and vision revolve around the following:
• Building community at Cornell, Ithaca, and beyond (including other DVM, MPH, and STEM PhD programs)
• Being a resource and sharing resources (e.g., student-parent childcare grants, mutual aid, and emergency funds)
• Outreaching to allied groups, programs, NT CVM alumni, and offices to further foster and advocate for the professional and social support of non-traditional students.
• Collaborating with allied groups that support the intersecting identities of NTS (e.g., but not limited to, FGLI, sNABV, PrideSVMC, WVLDI, GSVA, etc.) and also collaborating with multidisciplinary groups to support the diverse career pathways and trajectories of NTS at CVM.

The Black Graduate Business Association (BGBA) at Johnson is dedicated to the recruitment and support of students of African descent. Additionally, the organization is committed to the professional, academic, and social development of its membership. Members of the BGBA have the unique opportunity to initiate and execute key events in the Johnson community, interact with corporations on an individual basis, and coordinate with faculty,staff, alumni, and students in programs that shape our community.

The Black Graduate and Professional Student Association (BGPSA) is a network that addresses the needs and concerns of graduate and professional students of African descent at Cornell University. BGPSA engages in social, academic, and cultural initiatives as determined by its voting membership, which is open to all graduate and professional students. BGPSA works closely with faculty and staff and is involved in issues that affect Ithaca's Black community. BGPSA will do all things necessary and appropriate to accomplish these purposes.

The Johnson Board Fellowship program places second-year Johnson MBA students on Ithaca-area nonprofit boards for one-year appointments. Johnson Board Fellows gain board leadership experience, serve the local community, and execute consulting projects for the organizations they serve. The program is entirely student-run, and Fellows are selected in the fall of their second year. The Johnson Board Fellowship has been featured in US News and World Report and Cornell Enterprise magazine.

The purpose of Older Wiser Law Students (OWLS) shall be to foster a supportive community for students who have taken significant time off prior to law school; are transitioning into second careers; are partnered, married, and/or parenting; or view their academic path as non-traditional. We define a significant amount of time as 5 years or more separated from an undergraduate institution. The group caters to the social, academic, and other needs of those who are transitioning back to student life after a number of years out of school or who have serious non-academic commitments that fall outside of class.

Cornell Law School's Public Interest Law Union offers opportunities for students interested in a public interest legal career to explore the diversity of career options available to them. The group hosts public interest speaker events, provides volunteer service opportunities for members of the law school, and helps raise funds for grants for law students working in a Public Interest job in the summer.

The Organization of Cornell Planners (OCP) manages departmental professional development and social events for Master's students of Regional Planning, Historic Preservation Planning, and Regional Science. OCP interfaces with several student groups committed to advancing the field of planning: Design Connect, the Women's Planning Forum, and the International Planning Students Organization are among many student organizations whose activities are promoted and co-sponsored by the OCP. OCP can co-host events with student organizations outside CRP and AAP. OCP also provides mentorships to incoming graduate students with a student mentor-mentee system. Lastly, OCP collects and disseminates information regarding departmental information events, job opportunities in the planning profession, and mixer events to all alumni, faculty, and students affiliated within the Cornell Department of City and Regional Planning.

Romance Studies Graduate Student Association is an organization for graduate students of all levels and statuses within Cornell's department. While Romance Studies houses the sub-departments of Spanish, French, and Italian, the RSGSA will provide leadership and assembly possibilities that seek to enhance unity and shared interests of all language sections in the department. The student association will work closely with the steering committee to develop programming that helps graduates in their academic and professional efforts. The RSGSA also wishes to support the existing efforts of the French Studies program, the Program in European Studies, as well as existing student groups linked to the Romance Studies department, through better organization. We hope the Romance Studies Graduate Student Association will give the department's graduate students the best opportunity to contribute and share scholarly and professional goals.

Student Pride VMC (formerly Broad Spectrum) strives to support, represent, and advance the interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and nonbinary, questioning, intersex, asexual, and otherwise gender/sexuality-marginalized (LGBTQIA+) students, faculty, and staff affiliated with Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). We aim to foster inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ persons within the CVM community by organizing safe-space social gatherings, hosting speakers and educational events, advocating for LGBTQIA+ needs within the context of CVM, and collaborating with Pride VMC and other Student Pride VMC chapters to discuss the broader status of LGBTQIA+ individuals in veterinary medicine.

The mission of NABV is to "advocate, provide support, and cultivate an inclusive community for Blacks in veterinary medicine at every level of the profession through the organization, members and leadership." The purpose of the chapter is to provide support and community to Black students at CUCVM, to maintain strong relationships with Black alumni, and to offer opportunities for Black and minority pre-veterinary students to better understand the field.
