GET TO KNOW US!!

PURPOSE

Empower individuals with cognitive disabilities within the Ithaca community to express themselves through photography.

MISSION

Create a safe, creative space where people of all backgrounds can unite over shared experiences and appreciation of photography and art expression.

VISION

Bring awareness to cognitive disabilities and showcase how every community can get involved, no matter how big or small!

How does it work?

In Cameradery, there are two roles: participants and Cornell students. Each Cornell student is paired up with a participant throughout the semester to work on different themes every week. For example, one week was themed around "Portraits", so each pair used their creativity to create their own spin on self-portraits, whether it be with different props or colors!

PARTICIPANTS

As a participant, you will be able to use your imagination and inspired creativity to express yourself through the lens of the camera!

STUDENTS

As a student, you will help the participant carry out their vision, as well as bring your own flair to each shot!

Our Annual Artshow

At the end of every semester, Cameradery will host an art show to showcase the amazing work of each of our talented participants! Each participant will select their favorite photos taken during the semester to be printed and displayed within the gallery.

In future semesters, our art shows will be hosted at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art in collaboration with multiple other clubs and organizations. Anyone and everyone is welcome (and highly encouraged) to participate and attend the show!

If you or anyone you know would like to contribute to the show, feel free to contact us via our email at cornellcameradery@gmail.com.
