Order of the Engineers

The Order of the Engineer is a formal induction in which engineers publicly accept the Obligation of an Engineer. It is a lifelong ethical pledge, similar in spirit to the medical Hippocratic Oath, that recognizes the responsibilities we hold as members of the profession. Upon induction, each engineer receives a stainless steel ring worn on the pinky finger of their working hand as a lasting symbol of that commitment. The ceremony concludes with a reception for new inductees. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering has generously agreed to sponsor this event. Refreshments will also be provided.
