We hope your semester is off to a good start! We are happy to announce that the Translator Interpreter Program (TIP) is currently recruiting students to join our Executive Board.
TIP is a student-run program of the Einhorn Center for Community Engagement that trains bilingual and multilingual Cornell students to serve as volunteer translators/interpreters for community agencies in emergency and non-emergency situations. Certified by Cornell language professors, our volunteers have been serving over 300 community agencies since 2000.
If you are interested in getting more involved in running the program, joining the TIP Executive Board is a great opportunity to do so. It is not necessary to have attended a Volunteer Training Session yet, although it is definitely recommended! To learn more about our program, you can visit our website on Campus Groups as well. Fluency in another language is not required to serve on the Executive board.
Information about the available positions is included in the attached application form. Please note that you do not have to be a certified volunteer translator/interpreter in order to serve on the Executive Board, so everyone is encouraged to apply.
If you are interested, please fill out the attached application found as a PDF at this link and email it to translator@cornell.edu by September 19th at 5pm. If you have any questions regarding the positions and application process, please do not hesitate to email us. Thank you.
