Cornell Students for Justice in Palestine hosts an event with Mohammed El-Kurd, a Palestinian writer and poet from Sheikh Jarrah. His writing explores themes of dispossession, ethnic cleansing, settler colonialism, Islamophobia, and gender roles. Rifqa is his debut collection of poetry, written in the tradition of Ghassan Kanafani's Palestinian Resistance Literature and narrating his and his family's own experiences of dispossession in Sheikh Jarrah. He will be joining us this Friday at 7pm to discuss his writings, his life in occupied Palestine, and sign copies of Rifqa.
