About Us

The purpose of Small Claims Information Service at Cornell University shall be to provide resources to update residents of Upstate NY with legal information concerning Small Claims Court. Correspondence will take place through email, where we will send state laws pertinent to their claim and information on how to proceed with the court's administration. Were a client to seek advice, we will refer them to regional community organizations that can provide them further assistance. We do not provide legal information just resources. Our organization will also offer a training program to undergraduates on state laws and how to professionally interact with clients. This will be overseen by our advisor, Professor Gali Racabi, and our correspondence with various Tompkins County pro bono clinics.
