Notes for Neighbors!

The GHSAB has worked closely with Foodnet Meals on Wheels in Ithaca, a local agency whose mission is to provide meals and other nutrition services that promote dignity, well-being, and independence for older adults and other persons in need in Tompkins County. They deliver meals directly to residents’ doors or at their congregate meal site at Titus Towers in Ithaca. Their vision for the Tompkins County community is to eliminate senior hunger, make supportive services readily accessible, and help address feelings of loneliness and isolation. We supported their “Notes for Neighbors” initiative, which involved writing colorful and positive notes that were delivered alongside meals to neighbors at their doorsteps. We hosted pop-up note-writing stations across Cornell’s campus, as well as continuous stations where students could write a note at any time.
