Beyond Waste Prom

After thoughtful deliberation, the CSO will still be hosting the Beyond Waste Prom on Saturday 3/26 (8-11pm) with additional COVID safety measures in place.

We ask that all attendees do the following:

1. Register for the event ahead of time in Campus Groups

2. Wear a mask to the event

3. Bring your Cornell ID for check-in at the door!

At the event, safety measures will include:

• Handing out extra KN95 masks for any attendee who needs one
• Checking in attendees for the purposes of contact tracing
• Providing outdoor seating / dining options (be sure to bring a jacket!)

We will be asking all attendees to keep a mask on except when actively eating or drinking.Thank you for your cooperation, and we can’t wait to see you there!

You are cordially invited to the most sustainable prom of the year! Yes, an actual in-person prom! Skip the fast-fashion and only-wear-once clothes, and come dressed in your most fashionable pre-loved garments, whether they are thrifted, borrowed, shared, vintage, handcrafted, mended, or a closet staple.

This free event will feature music and plenty of dancing, a catered and sustainably-sourced dinner and dessert, a paper-free photo booth, local greenery, sustainable DIY projects, Touchdown in a tux, and more! There’s something for everyone.

The event will also feature an outfit showcase, where attendees will be invited to show off your sustainable creations, whether they are thrifted, borrowed, homemade, or mended.

This certified Cornell Sustainable Event represents the culmination of the Campus Sustainability Office’s 2022 Beyond Waste campaign.
