Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an internationally recognized sorority that was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 15th, 1908. Our sorority has since flourished to serve communities all across the world and is now comprised of over 390,000 members. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated aims to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of Service to All Mankind. The Mu Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on March 31st, 1979, on the campus of Cornell University to foster sisterhood on this campus and to serve Cornell students, the Greater Ithaca Community, and All Mankind.
