Food Justice Seminar Series

The Food Justice Seminar Series was created by Cornell Hunger Relief Program in collaboration with advisors Joyce Muchan and Heather Kolakowski. The goal of these events is to provide a platform for recognizing the work that is being done to target the issues of food security and food apartheid in Tompkins County. Additionally, we hope to facilitate reflection and critical analysis of hunger relief interventions by exposing students and faculty to diverse perspectives in food justice. Keep an eye out for more installments of this series and access recorded events below:

Faculty Panel

On May 7, 2021, Cornell Hunger Relief Program moderated a panel discussion featuring Cornell Faculty members as the first installation of the Food Justice Seminar Series to highlight the work that is being done at Cornell to combat hunger and address issues of or related to food justice. The panel featured faculty members Anke Wessels, Chris Barret, Marcia Eames-Sheavley, and Karla Hanson. The focus of this first hour-long event was to start an ongoing conversation on how we can best address inequalities in local and global food systems through research and engaged learning.
