🍰 Charity Week UPDATE – October 21st - 25th

Charity Week is finally here! We wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Charity Week Bake Sale! Alhamdulilah, we sold out and raised $300, bringing our total to $1,300+ so far! 🎉 Your contributions are directly supporting orphans and children in need in Palestine and Sudan. To continue helping, please donate via Launchgood using the link below—every bit counts!

Each event's suggested donation is $3!

  • 🎨 Calligraphy Workshop – October 22nd | 5:00 - 6:30 PM
    Location: Slope near Morrill Hall (see map below)
    Create beautiful designs while supporting charity!

  • 🧘‍♀️ Destress Social – October 23rd | 6:00 - 7:00 PM
    Location: WSH International Room
    Destress and recharge with us through self-care activities like face masks, beard lineups, and henna. Samosas and chai included with your donation!

  • 🎬 Movie Night – October 25th | Doors open 7:00 PM
    Location: TBD (stay tuned for updates)
    Relax and enjoy "Despicable Me 4" with the community.

Hadith/Quran Verse of the Week

As we continue our Charity Week, let’s reflect on this beautiful Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ):

"The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 2442)

This reminds us of the immense rewards of giving charity and how our acts of kindness and generosity will be our protection in the Hereafter. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive as we continue to raise funds for those in need.

The Yale Conference is fast approaching on November 1st! For those who have registered, you should have received updated information regarding the event. We hope you take the opportunity to connect with fellow Muslim communities across the Ivy League, and we look forward to hearing about your productive and enriching experiences. It was a night filled with community, laughter, and connection, and it truly set the tone for what MECA is all about—welcoming everyone with open arms and creating a space where we can all grow together.
