Subject: Opportunity to join next CEE GSA board

join us today CEE GSA

Come to our board meetings!

Dear First_Name,

The next CEE GSA elections will be held at the end of this semester (Spring 2025). To facilitate a smooth transition, we’re opening our current board meetings to all PhD and MS students interested in taking a position on the board in the next academic year. This is an opportunity to learn how we plan and organize events, timeline, and important milestones.

As MEng students join the program for 1 year, we have instituted a position for MEng students on the board, which will be determined at the beginning of the next academic year after the orientations.

If you are interested in attending the meetings, we ask that you reply to this email by next Thursday (March 20) so we can keep track of the number of people and reserve an appropriate meeting room in time.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM and is scheduled to repeat every 2 weeks. Room is TBD.

Are you a Faculty Member?

If you are interested in being a faculty advisor for the next CEE GSA, this is a great role to demonstrate service and community outreach involvement that, at its core, serves diversity and inclusion. You can indicate your interest by replying to this email or letting any of the current officers know.
We would also love it if you encourage your students to participate.

Who are "we"? Officers 2024–2025

Since August 2024, we have organized 24 events and will reach 44 by the end of August 2025 with the help of ~20 volunteers. Thus far, the number of attendees from all concentrations and levels at the School of CEE has ranged from 20 to 80 across events. We also increased our social media engagement on platforms like Slack and Instagram, and we officially transitioned to using CampusGroups. We aim to keep this momentum going and ensure that the CEE community and the larger Hollister community will continue to have access to recurring social events, research symposium, Prepperoni Presentations, and more.
