Dear Club Sports Members,

To elaborate on the new year updates, Club Sports Council is excited to share some new details on our officer elections, G-Body meetings, safety and finance training sessions and space reservation. If you missed last week's update, you can find any of our important emails on our CampusGroups website. 

Officer Applications

Clubs Sports Council has many officer positions that allow undergraduate students to get involved and promote the development of club sports. On the calendar year, we will be accepting applications for President and Vice President of Finance who will take over and serve for the next academic year. Applications for President and Vice President of Finance for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 academic year are now open and will be open until Sunday, February 12th. 

Any undergraduate member or officer of a club sports organization is eligible to apply, but we ask that those hoping to become the Vice President of Finance have previous experience as a treasurer of a student organization or as a commissioner for a different funding commission on campus such as SAFC or be otherwise familiar with CampusGroups budgets. The responsibilities for each of these positions can be found in more detail on the application. G-Body Meetings

As previously stated, Club Sports Council will now be holding G-body meetings for club sports representatives to assemble and find out more about important information we have as well as ask us any questions they might have about club sports operations and finances and voice goals and concerns regarding club sports. The first meeting will take place on Sunday, February 19th at 7pm. All club sports are required to send a representative to these meetings, preferably an officer but any member can act as a representative if club officers are unavailable to attend. The only exception in attendance is if your club holds official practices or events during the time that the meeting takes place.

There will be at least two G-body meetings per semester and failure to send a representative to these meetings without a valid excuse will compromise your ability to access the tournament fund and other club sports benefits. Next year and in following years, failure to attend may also compromise your ability to submit budget and payment requests. In order to be excused from a meeting, you must send an email to clubsports@cornell.edu with a link to the CampusGroups event that is taking place during the time of the meeting. 

Safety and Finance Training Sessions

There will be safety training and finance information sessions for new officers to attend. If your organization already attended these sessions in the fall, you do not need to attend again this semester unless all officers have been changed this semester. New organizations for this semester are also required to send at least one officer to each of these sessions in order to receive funding from Club Sports Council and to be allowed to operate as an organization.
 
There will be two safety training sessions over Zoom this semester that will take place on Monday, February 13th at 5pm and Thursday, February 16th at 7pm. There will be one finance information session over Zoom that will take place on Wednesday, February 15th at 5pm. Registration and Zoom information for this event will be available over CampusGroups. 

Safety Waivers

On the note of the safety training sessions, all club sports members must sign a safety waiver on CampusGroups to participate with an organization. If you participate in multiple club sports, you will have to sign waivers for each club sport that you join. Club sport officers are responsible for ensuring that all members of their organization have signed the safety waiver. You will receive an email if you have members that have not signed the safety waiver. 

Space Reservation

Club sport officers, please look out for an email regarding "Club reservations for athletic spaces". Information on reservation procedures were sent out regarding making reservations for this semester. The information will also be posted on our CampusGroups website shortly. 
For those clubs looking to reserve the Ramin Room, its reservations are made by email on a daily basis. Please email Ryan O'Neil to reserve the Ramin Room. This information can also be found on our CampusGroups website under Space Reservations.
