THE DONLON JOURNAL -- Saturday February 11 2023
Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo╠▒hó:ný╔ü (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo╠▒hó:ný are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo╠▒hó:nýdispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo╠▒hó:ný people, past and present, to these lands and waters.
Co-Op Mosey Open House: Sunday, February 12th, 1:00 – 5:00pm
The Co-ops are open to all undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Co-ops are unique, collaborative communities governed by their student residents, and are among the least expensive housing options on campus. Members determine house rules and participate in daily operations, including routine cleaning and maintenance. Decisions affecting each house are made democratically at individual house meetings. Houses range in size from as few as 10 to as many as 35 members. Most are mixed gender while others house only female-identifying students. Several have a mixture of both undergraduate and graduate students. Most of the co-ops offer both single and double rooms. Five co-ops have meal plans; all have shared kitchens.
For more information about cooperative living see https://housing.cornell.edu/cooperatives The webpages list: types of rooms and amenities in each house; the number of residents; whether the house has a meal plan; the address and location; and contact information for the house.
Applying for residency is handled independently by each house. Most houses will host additional events up until February 23rd, and applicants will be notified Thursday night, March 2nd of their status.
