High Council Updates
Hey High Rises, here's your weekly presidential update about upcoming High Council events!
First, we're opening up our council meetings to anyone who's a resident at the High Rises. The meetings run from 2:00pm to 3:00pm every Sunday. We're installing a whiteboard in Jameson (per our residents requests), so be sure to come out to our public council meetings if you ever have any questions or issues that you want to bring up to the committee!
Next, we've got a new Discord Server for y'all to join! The server is a great way to find friends and fellow students on your floor, and we'll be releasing important event-related announcements there too. You can find the link here: https://discord.gg/jXprpFs5Ph
Lastly, we're having a whole week of Halloween-Themed High Rise events from October 24-31 in collaboration with the High Rise RAs, so get your costumes and ready! Also, be on the lookout for an upcoming High-Rise sponsored PING-PONG tournament coming to you in mid-October after prelims are over. Hope to see you at our next council meeting on 10/10!

Big Red Thon
Big Red THON is a student-run, non-profit organization that raises money for children at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, New York! Dance marathon organizations, such as Big Red THON, work together to raise money for over 170 hospitals associated with the Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raise enough money to help over 32 million children receive medical treatments they need every year, while also raising money to provide the hospitals with resources such as surgical suites, and MRI machines! Overall, we want to help make a difference in children's lives, through raising money for them in a fun way!
Big Red THON is a GREAT way to facilitate freshman bonding, and allows for students to get involved and participate in philanthropy on campus!
We have our live event coming up on November 6th in Barton Hall, which will include live performances, music, dancing, food, games, photo booth, and more! With registration, students will have entrance to the main event, receive a t-shirt (for the first 120 registrants), 1 food ticket (includes a meal and a snack), and 100% of the costs go to the kids at Upstate Golisano Children's hospital!
