Volunteer Opportunities
As Thanksgiving break nears, let’s take time to appreciate what we’re thankful for—and share that gratitude with others. Whether by checking in on a friend or volunteering in the Ithaca community, small acts can make a big impact.
Here are a few local organizations seeking volunteers this season:
The Salvation Army: Dedicated to serving and uplifting the Ithaca community, The Salvation Army welcomes volunteers every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM & 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Join their efforts to support neighbors in need and make a tangible difference this holiday season.
Loaves and Fishes of Tomkins County: A cornerstone in combating food insecurity, Loaves and Fishes provides free meals to community members every weekday. Volunteers are especially needed on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM to help serve dinner and spread warmth through food and connection.
Ithaca Reuse: Ithaca Reuse promotes environmental sustainability by giving items a second life. Volunteer and training sessions for new participants are held on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It’s a great opportunity to meet other eco-minded community members while supporting a more sustainable Ithaca.
Other opportunities: Openings for other events become available on a weekly basis. Check out what is available this week!
