Students at First at Cornell

Recap: First at Cornell

This summer, we proudly launched our new program, First at Cornell, a pre-orientation program to welcome our newest cohort of first-gen trailblazers to Cornell! Over several days, we brought 40 incoming first-years, transfer students, and their families to Ithaca, built community through a three-day trip at Greek Peak Mountain Resort, equipped both students and families with confidence, knowledge, and tools to navigate Cornell and beyond, and created a roadmap for their academic and personal achievements toward leadership development.

With the support of Dean of Students, Marla Love, our Peer Navigators, and numerous campus partners across campus, these 40 trailblazers began their Cornell journey equipped with mentorship, resources, and a network of support that will walk with them every step of the way.

We're so thankful to everyone who came to join in on the fun in our small lounge. We had no idea this event would be so popular! We hope you had an amazing and fun time creating new connections with other first-gen peers over board games, music, and light food. Please look forward to more community and social events hosted by the Peer Navigators.
