Updates & Reminders

  • Lost and found items will now be forwarded to the CUPD Lost and Found. Feel free to check the Service Centers if others have turned items in there.
  • Make sure you’re picking up your clothes in the laundry room! If clothes are left unattended for an extended period of time, they will be removed.
  • If you have any leftover pumpkins/jack-o-lanterns outside your apartments, throw them in the trash before they get moldy and gross. If not, you’ll get reminders or notes from your RAs to throw them away.
  • Sign up for RA chats with your RAs so they know how your semester is going :)

Volunteer Opportunities

As Thanksgiving break nears, let’s take time to appreciate what we’re thankful for—and share that gratitude with others. Whether by checking in on a friend or volunteering in the Ithaca community, small acts can make a big impact.

Here are a few local organizations seeking volunteers this season:

The Salvation Army: Dedicated to serving and uplifting the Ithaca community, The Salvation Army welcomes volunteers every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM & 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Join their efforts to support neighbors in need and make a tangible difference this holiday season.

Loaves and Fishes of Tomkins County: A cornerstone in combating food insecurity, Loaves and Fishes provides free meals to community members every weekday. Volunteers are especially needed on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM to help serve dinner and spread warmth through food and connection.

Ithaca Reuse: Ithaca Reuse promotes environmental sustainability by giving items a second life. Volunteer and training sessions for new participants are held on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It’s a great opportunity to meet other eco-minded community members while supporting a more sustainable Ithaca.

Other opportunities: Openings for other events become available on a weekly basis. Check out what is available this week!

This week’s Townhouse Treat is a honey power bowl. Nothing beats a bowl of rice with some protein and veggies. Feel free to use chicken, salmon, tofu, or whatever you have on hand for the protein. The veggie options are unlimited so pile up on all the veggies in your fridge and I’m sure it’ll taste amazing. As always salt, pepper, and season to your liking. Enjoy!
