The New York State Science Policy Fellowship is sponsored through the Rockefeller Institute of Government, and is a two-year role that allows for recently graduated PhD students to make the transition from academia to science policy. This panel includes three current fellows: Megan Cassingham (PhD in Inorganic Chemistry); Emily Laurilliard (PhD in Biomedical Engineering); Anqesha Murray (PhD in Biology); and Laura Rabinow, the Deputy Director of Research at Rockefeller Institute of Government.

There are also small group meetings with the panelists afterwards, please click here to have time to chat in a more casual setting with the fellows. You can choose which fellow to meet with, but groups may be combined as needed.

From the website:

"The New York State Science Policy Fellowship transitions PhDs in science, technology, and engineering into high-level public sector roles in New York State’s executive and legislative branches, with the goal of bringing subject matter expertise to New York State leaders and providing those with techno-scientific expertise hands-on experience in policymaking. It supports this goal by providing early career science, technology, and engineering scholars training on how policy is developed and implemented at the state level, and educational programming on the challenges related to the intersection of governance and techno-scientific expertise more broadly."
