Heather Henyon, MBA

Heather Henyon is Founding Partner of Mindshift Capital, a global venture fund that invests exclusively in early stage women-led technology companies. Mindshift Capital has backed 19 companies led by 26 female founders in 6 countries. Heather is Founder of the Women’s Angel Investor Network (WAIN), the first and largest women’s angel investor group in the Middle East. An active venture investor with a passion forwomen’s health and sports, Heather has over 200 direct and fund investments in the US, Europe and Middle East. She started her career on Wall Street and has almost 20 years of experience in finance, technology and strategy in emerging markets including as founding CEO of Grameen-Jameel Microfinance Ltd.
Heather is a member of the Investment Committee of the Next Wave Impact Fund and is a founding member and former Board and Investment Committee member of Dubai Angel Investors and Cairo Angels Syndicate Fund. She serves on the Board of Directors and Audit & Risk Committee of the Sekem Holding Group in Egypt and is a Board Member of Little Thinking Minds (Jordan), Wellbees (Turkey) and QiDZ (UAE). Heather received the 2023 Cornell University Emerging Market Institute’s Cañizares Alumni Award and has been nominated as Investor of the Year by Arabian Business in 2017 and 2016. Originally from the US, she has lived in the Middle East for 15 years and speaks Arabic and French. Heather holds an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from the Johnson School at Cornell University where she was a Park Leadership Fellow and a BA in Economics & Political Science from Oberlin College.

Boram Nam

Boram Nam is an entrepreneur with a track record of building innovative startups. In 2022, she co-founded Boram Care, launching the first postnatal retreat in the U.S. to support mothers in their postpartum recovery. Before Boram Care, she was part of the founding team at DramaFever, a video-on-demand streaming platform that became a leading destination for international content before its acquisition by SoftBank.
Boram has a background in hospitality and travel, having worked in sales and operations at renowned hotels such as The Four Seasons, The Plaza, and The Shilla Hotel in Seoul. She holds a Ph.D. in behavioral marketing, an MBA from Yonsei University, and a B.S. from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.

Margot Berg, MHA, CHFP

Margot is a senior manager of strategy and business development at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She brings 5 years of management consulting experience to this internal consulting role, in which she advises on strategic and financial growth initiatives across the enterprise, including the clinical departments/divisions, the hospitals, and the research institute. Some highlights from Margot’s project portfolio include:
- Strategic growth plan for the largest pediatric radiology department in the U.S., including the development of a national pediatric teleradiology service model;
- Development of business plans for large scale strategic investments, including an $80M cell-based therapy lab expansion to reinforce CHOP’s leadership in the cell and gene therapy; and
- Advocacy and articulation of financial support for transformational research programs to speed up translation to the clinical care setting, including for 3D heart modeling prior to surgical intervention.
Prior to joining CHOP, Margot advised provider-side clients of all shapes and sizes on financial and strategic issues as an engagement manager at Veralon Partners, a boutique health care consulting firm. Margot is actively involved in the Metro-Philadelphia Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) chapter, where she serves as a board member and vice chair for the women in healthcare leadership event committee.
Margot holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Information Engineering (with a minor in Health Policy) from Cornell University’s College of Engineering and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Cornell University’s Sloan Program. Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Margot is a proud speed-walker and self-proclaimed food critic. Outside of work, you can find Margot with her head in a book, Olympic weightlifting at CrossFit, and/or begrudgingly training for a marathon.

Dr. Susan Fleming

Dr. Susan S. Fleming is a corporate director, start-up advisor and investor, and mom. From 2010 - 2018, she was a Senior Lecturer at Cornell University, teaching women in leadership and entrepreneurship. Susan began her career on Wall Street, where over a period of twelve years she held various positions in the investment community, including that of Analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co., Vice President of Insurance Partners, L.P., a $540 million private equity fund and Partner at Capital Z Financial Services Partners, a $1.85B private equity fund. After retiring from Wall Street in 2003, Susan began work as an educator, teaching executives, investment professionals, MBAs and undergraduates in the areas of corporate finance, insurance, valuation, and gender bias. She also enrolled at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management to pursue a Ph.D. in Management where her research focused on better understanding the factors contributing to a dearth of women in leadership positions in U.S. society.
Susan helped to found a startup in Ithaca, NY, and has previously served on the boards of five publicly traded insurance and reinsurance companies, two private companies, and four nonprofits. She currently serves on the boards of RLI Corp., Virtus Investment Partners, and the Center for Transformative Action, where she is Board Secretary and Chair of the Governance Committee. She currently serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence with the Center for Regional Economic Advancement at Cornell University and has been a frequent speaker on issues of gender bias and entrepreneurship.
