A multi-platinum selling recording-artist barely scratches the surface of the interdisciplinary pursuits of Adam Met. As the bassist for AJR, Adam has traveled the world on sold-out tours, has achieved platinum certifications in numerous countries, and has recorded a repertoire of music which has garnered over 2 billion streams worldwide. A graduate of Columbia University, Adam received a dual degree in Business and Philosophy. He also holds a Master’s from New York University in Constitutional Religious Law and is currently pursuing his PhD in International Human Rights Law in the UK, advocating for a reconciling of tensions between sustainable development and legal human rights obligations.
Adam’s work with the UN Development Programme as a Sustainable Development Advocate fosters awareness of both rights violations and solutions to his social media followers and beyond. Speaking at conferences as well as on television and industry panels, Adam has developed a unique perspective, which intersects a variety of worlds: music, marketing, technology, academia, policy, and government. He has written on these topics for Billboard Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and Mashable, and is the host of the podcast Planet Reimagined. Adam used these skills to start Sustainable Partners Inc (SPI), an interdisciplinary nonprofit that creates engagement around sustainability through media, research, and incentive-based initiatives. Adam’s passion for interdisciplinarity permits him to forge multiple simultaneous paths while using each to support the others.
