About Us

The Piano Society at Cornell provides a community for pianists and piano fans in the Cornell community of all ages, abilities, and interests. We provide member-to-member lessons to help beginners sharpen their skills and to help intermediate students keep up with their practicing and performing. We hold formal and informal concerts throughout the year. We collaborate with other organizations on campus who are looking for pianists. We connect our members with resources on campus including professional lessons, master classes, performance opportunities, visiting musicians, and more.

Our Lessons Program

The Piano Society specializes in bringing students and teachers together to share our collective love for piano and musical discovery. Our member-to-member lessons program offers an way for Cornell community members, including undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and others, to receive instruction in piano playing for an extremely affordable price. We recruit experienced pianists and pair them up with students interested in learning. We welcome players of all backgrounds and levels of experience - whether you're a total beginner or a virtuoso! Teaching Benefits

We are always looking for student pianists to teach with us! No prior teaching experience is necessary. As a teacher you will receive:

Access to grand piano practice rooms in Lincoln Hall (normally $100)
24/7 ID card access to Lincoln Hall
Partial scholarship for piano lessons through the Music Department
Priority selection for events such as masterclasses
Access to teaching resources

Student Lessons

As a student you will meet up with a teacher on a weekly basis for lessons. We offer 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons. There is a once-per-semester fee to take lessons:
