Renowned Taiwanese cellist Shih-Lin Chen—former member of the Borealis String Quartet, with over 600 performances worldwide during his six years with the ensemble, acclaimed by critics for performances of passion, vitality, and refined musical elegance, and frequently broadcast across Canada on CBC Radio—joins longtime chamber music collaborator and Cornell Music Department faculty member Vera H. P. Hsu. Together, they present a program of masterworks featuring Bach’s cello suite and cello sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms. Their many years of musical partnership promise a performance of rare intensity, depth, and brilliance.
