Quilt-Making for Environmental Justice

2025 has been a challenging year for many who care deeply about environmental justice and the need for greater awareness of its importance. In response to the growing desire for expression and healing on Cornell’s campus, the Eco Artivism Club is hosting an eco-themed quilt-making night. This event offers a creative space for people to express their concerns, hopes, love, and anger through the art of quilting. The final group quilt will be exhibited in Guild of Visual Art’s Spring Gallery and Annual Sustainability Exhibition at CHE. Event Plan: Upon arrival, everyone can choose one or more fabric squares prepared by EACC to create their own design on, either through fabric collage, embroidery, and drawing. At the end of the event, all finished fabric pieces will be collected by Eboard members and sewn together to form the final quilt in the following week. If you would like to participate in the following sewing process, please let us know at the event or email Lucy (cc2527@cornell.edu).
