Meet the Executive Board

Patrick Mehler

President

Patrick Mehler is a senior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations from Yonkers, NY and the President of Cornell Votes. Additionally, Patrick is Cornell’s Lead Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassador, an Alderperson on the Ithaca Common Council, and former Director of Elections for the Student Assembly. Outside of civic engagement, he holds numerous current and former leadership roles across Cornell’s campus, including President of the Scheinman Conflict Resolution Club and President Emeritus of the Club Sports Council.

Dana Karami

VP of Operations

Dana Karami is a senior from Centennial, Colorado majoring in Policy Analysis and Management and minoring in Human Development and Law & Society. In addition to being VP of Operations for Cornell Votes, Dana is the Organizational Chair for the Translator Interpreter Program, a research assistant for the Early Childhood Cognition laboratory, and a Brooks School Ambassador. She is also a member of Kappa Omicron Nu and an analyst for the Cornell Intellectual Property and Ethics Club.

Isaac Chasen

VP of Finance

Isaac Chasen is a senior from New York City majoring in Applied Economics and Management. Aside from being VP of Finance for Cornell Votes, he is Co-President of the Cornell ACLU, Director of Elections for the Student Assembly, and Chief of Staff for the Cornell International Affairs Conference. He is also a huge New York sports fan and an avid reader.

Elena Woo

Coalition Department Chair

Elena Woo is a junior from Portland, Oregon majoring in Biology & Society. Aside from being Chair of Cornell Votes’ Coalition Department, she serves on the Every Vote Counts National Student Board. Outside of civic engagement, Elena is part of the Cornell Tradition Fellowship and ADviCE Fellowship, is involved in Alpha Iota Gamma (a professional healthcare fraternity), and is an ELSO (English Language Support Office) Speaking Group Facilitator. She also works at Beaverton City Hall and is an undergraduate research assistant at the Tschida Lab in the Department of Psychology.

Rahul Verma

Community Engagement Department Chair

Rahul Verma is a junior from the Bay Area, CA majoring in Global and Public Health Sciences. Besides being Chair of Cornell Votes’ Community Engagement Department, he serves on the Global Health Student Advisory Board, is involved in PhiDE (Pre-medical Pre-Professional Organization), and is an undergraduate researcher at the FIG Lab in the Department of Nutritional Sciences.

Serena Wang

Communications Department Chair

Serena Wang is a sophomore from McLean, Virginia majoring in Policy Analysis and Management. In addition to being Chair of Cornell Votes’ Communications Department, she is a financial assistant for the Cornell Political Union and a brother in Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. Serena is also an undergraduate teaching assistant and conducts research for a Cornell Law School professor.

Joyce Muchan

Advisor

Joyce Muchan, ILR '97, had been with the Public Service Center since 1999 and is now bringing her experience and expertise to the Einhorn Center as Assistant Director of Student Programs. Her focus is student leadership development within co-circular service programs with a racial equity analysis, project management, student-run board management with transitional leadership, evaluation, reflection, student-board grant allocation, curriculum-based service trips, as well as the coordination of Cornell's largest student-run service projects.

Joyce currently serves on the Southern Tier Human Trafficking Task Force and the Cornell Alumni Club of Ithaca. She has served on several community boards and task forces including, Tompkins County Human Rights Commissioner, City of Ithaca Rental Housing Commissioner, Ithaca City School District Affirmative Action Committee, Ithaca City Drug Task Force and Ithaca City Community and Police Conflict Management Task Force. Joyce is also a member of Sphinx Head.
