The purpose of Animal Advocacy at Cornell (AAC) shall be to provide a space for individuals of all backgrounds who have an interest in ending suffering and exploitation of all animals, through advocacy, education, outreach, campaigning, and a plant-based lifestyle. AAC seeks to increase the accessibility of a plant-based diet and help individuals explore the world of plant-based eating.

The Cornell Bee Club provides opportunities to learn beekeeping in a hands-on setting. Outreach and group collaboration are major goals for the growth of our club.

The mission of SAS is to make a positive impact on our local community and the lives of animals in need. Our primary goal is to fundraise for local animal shelters, ensuring they have the resources necessary to provide proper care and support. In addition to fundraising, we will actively encourage our members with opportunities for hands-on volunteer work at these shelters, allowing students to directly contribute to the welfare of the animals. We will also take on the essential role of advertising shelter animals looking for loving homes, spreading awareness through various platforms to increase adoption rates. We will also collaborate with the Veterinary School’s Shelter Medicine club to connect undergraduates with current vet students interested in shelter medicine. Furthermore, our club serves as a valuable hub to connect students with opportunities in the realm of animal care and shelter medicine. Through our collective efforts, we aim to be a driving force of compassion and positive change for both the students involved, the community, and the animals we support.

Veterinary Outreach provides interns with an opportunity to work first hand with experienced local veterinarians. Interns will fund raise for medications and supplies prior to the trip abroad. While in country, interns will assist the veterinarians with performing physical exams, giving vaccines, performing surgeries, deworming animals and assessing general health and well-being. All intern activities are under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. This is an intensive internship, valuable to future veterinarians, veterinary technicians and other future healthcare providers as well as those interested in seeing what it is like to work in a developing country. The internship is focused on giving interns a variety of experiences, deepening their understanding of the veterinary field, and broadening their global view.
