An anthology of projects from artists, architects, and planners, ASSOCIATION strives to highlight cross-disciplinary connections and reveal new relationships between the works produced by the three departments we represent. Through the careful curation and presentation of yearly submissions since 2005, each volume serves as a record of the work produced by the current AAP community, as well as a source of inspiration for years to come.

Accentia is a multilingual creative collective centered on displaying poetry, prose, and various creative writing mediums in non-English languages. We strive to accentuate the voices of creatives who speak a diverse array of languages and provide a space for open expression. Through our vast linguistic perspectives, we offer the opportunity for multilingual people, from native speakers to beginners, to tap into their artistic side.

Medium is an interdisciplinary design organization at Cornell University, whose mission is to build an interdisciplinary collective of individuals, as a platform for engaging in dialogue and collaboration about design. Majors from all seven colleges are represented in our collective, which is split into incubates, events, marketing, web, education, and publication. Each year, Medium creates design projects and a publication centered around a theme, and puts on events that showcase different facets of design and workshops that teach design skills. In this way, we hope to spark dialogue through design, linking computer scientists, architects, and everybody in between.

I have always felt that animation has been devalued as a legitimate art form, and my ultimate desire is to shift people’s long-standing negative mindsets, perceived limitations, and even prejudices regarding what animation can be and do. I wish to establish this club to increase awareness in the often unnoticed artistry and capabilities of the medium of animation. I want to provide an opportunity for students to participate in the production of animation projects to experience firsthand the tremendous potential for the medium to express the raw and true emotion of the human spirit. Establishing a club at Cornell University would provide a unique opportunity.

In the UDV we aim to revive unconscious principles. These principles like symmetry, mathematical proportionality, and harmony immemorially have been understood to underlie beauty. These principles lead to our liking of things without clear rationale. These principles were the foundation of
a design based education since before antiquity. Only around one hundred years ago did these fully fall out of education. By reintegrating these principles into students’ design education, we can thereby rekindle beauty in our surroundings.
