ACE provides its members with a support network and a safe space to meet and discuss ace related issues and experiences. ACE is also dedicated to developing the ace community at Cornell and improving visibility and availability of information surrounding the ace community.

Our organization runs various events throughout the year to spread cancer awareness and raise money for the American Cancer Society. Our biggest event is Relay for Life, an all-night fundraiser that the entire Cornell community is encouraged to attend. We fundraise before and during the event, which includes speakers, performances, food, and activities.

ALCSIC aims to promote awareness for lung cancer screening for individuals at high-risk of developing lung cancer at Cornell University and the larger Ithaca community through educational efforts, community outreach, and health literacy engagement. Activities may include advocating for Congress members to support lung cancer bills, presenting to various stakeholders to build awareness, and working with local health departments to educate and bring actionable change to the community.

APAA (established in 1972) is a group of passionate students dedicated to advocating for the AAPI community at Cornell. APAA builds on its past work in promoting the fundamental importance of political education and history through advocacy and discussion. AAPA is committed to furthering AAPI awareness on campus and to politically empowering and advocating for the needs of Asian-Pacific American students. Furthermore, APAA builds coalitions with other students of color and social justice groups to facilitate a more unified community of color. In the past two years, APAA held discussions on revolutionaries and thinkers like Grace Lee Boggs as well as relevant issues in the AAPI community such as affirmative action, rising gun violence in the AAPI community, and Asian-American history. We are also engaging with the greater Cornell community through fundraisers, panels, and other events to raise awareness about AAPI issues. APAA also publishes a literary magazine called Parallax, an Asian American social and political journal that highlights historical and contemporary AAPI topics of interest.

It is the purpose of The Black Women's Support Network to provide a supportive, educational, and social venue where women of African descent can discuss issues affecting and pertaining to their community. Support is consistently provided to these women by giving them ample access to all resources and tools needed to assist them in their academic, personal and social endeavors while at Cornell University. Items under this umbrella include, but are not limited to: academic workshops and development, sexual/mental/physical/emotional health assistance, and access to other supportive Black women through a variety of social events and initiatives such as the B.O.S.S. (Building Ourselves through Sisterhood and Service), a peer mentorship program for self-identified women of color. Moreover, the Black Women's Support Network aims to serve as a forum where women of color can share, reflect and gain knowledge from each other's experiences. BWSN seeks to accomplish this by providing engaging Sister Circle discussions on a regular basis throughout the year. Sister Circles are our unique form of General Body meetings which occur bi-weekly. The Black Women's Support Network also aims to reach out to other Black women within the Greater Ithaca Community through community service initiatives and interactions with young "at risk" females.

Mission
Building Ourselves through Sisterhood and Service (B.O.S.S.) aims to foster healthy and genuine relationships between upperclassmen and underclassmen womxn of color, promote positive social interactions within womxn of color communities, encourage high academic and personal standards, provide access to helpful campus resources, and inspire community involvement and commitment to service. Incoming freshmen are paired with juniors. These pairs will stay together formally for 1 year. Although the program understands the importance of the year for growth and development, matches of sophomores and seniors can be made on a case-by-case basis. For example, a sophomore transfer student may be matched with a senior. We create a variety of programs throughout the year that encourage pairs to bond as well as serve the Cornell and Ithaca community.

The Cornell Anti-Detention Alliance, affiliated with the Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Cornell, supports detained and previously detained immigrants through direct services and grassroots advocacy. We demand a humane immigration system that does not exploit and incarcerate immigrants, in Upstate New York and beyond.

Our team will conduct virtual visitation with and provide direct social services for migrants detained at ICE detention facilities (facilitate their access to resources, support services, legal services)

We will also engage in political advocacy by spreading awareness about the immigrant detention system, organizing with statewide and national campaigns for immigrant justice, and fundraising for migrants in need of financial support.

We are fervently dedicated to advocacy for the federal funding and policy needed to support Partners in Health’s work and medical care delivery to underserved communities around the world. As a chapter of the national network of teams of PIH Engage, the organizing sector of Partners in Health with hundreds of chapters nationwide across universities and cities of the US, we draw from our national network of passionate community organizers and policy advocates to advocate for health equity in communities worldwide through local community building, education, and fundraising initiatives that strengthen PIH’s work providing high quality healthcare in the conviction that treatable illnesses should not be a death sentence for those in areas without accessible medical care. Through organizing community education centered events around global public health issues and rights-centered policies that strengthen healthcare infrastructure, we aspire to mobilize the Cornell community around the right to health and justice in public health. Through fundraising for care-delivery programs and community building campaigns around Partners in Health’s work across the calendar year, we strive to emphasize the tremendous impact of a grassroots approach to social justice work in global health, increase participation in health justice issues, and understanding around the importance of equitable access to public health resources in underserved communities both in the US and across the Global South.
