August Move-In: Call for Volunteers

Step-by-step guide:

Based on your availability, select the days you are able to volunteer. If you are free for only part of a day select “1”. If you are free for two shifts select “2”, if three shifts select "3".

• Do this for each day you are wanting to volunteer.
• Click the green “Register” button.
• Fill out the additional questions and select the shifts you are free to volunteer. Note, if you listed a “2” for a day you will see there will be two sections in which you need to select your two shifts. Option 1 will be shift 1 and option 2 will be shift 2 (if you selected three shifts, option 3 will be for shift 3).
• Click “Confirm my reservation”.
• Review the August 2021 Move-In Information webpage (will automatically pop up).

Signing UP!

In order to make a selection above, you MUST be signed in to Campus Groups. If you do not see an option to select 'Quantity' on the right side of the page, follow the link in the top right corner of this page to 'Sign In.'

The shifts are between 4-4.5 hours long and thus, a volunteer can only work a total of 3 shifts per date. The shifts are broken up between morning, afternoon, and evening. To sign up for shifts, please follow these steps:

General Information:
We’re excited to announce that Fall Move-In will take place for new students from 8/19 - 8/21, and returning students from 8/22 – 8/25. We need your help in making this experience positive and run smoothly for our students. It’s one of our first opportunities to connect with new students and their families and show them our commitment to providing an excellent Cornell experience.

ALL volunteers will receive a Cornell Move-In t-shirt and a hat. Those who volunteer for a back-to-back shift will receive a meal from Cornell Dining, a light breakfast with coffee, and bottled water.

Faculty/Staff- In addition, for each shift worked, all volunteers will be entered to win one of the twenty-five spots for an exclusive lunch and tour of Morrison Dining Hall. Each winner will be able to bring a colleague.

Students- You are eligible to receive volunteer hours, and the volunteers from the top three organizations with the highest number of volunteer hours will receive an exclusive pizza party in the Toni Morrison Dining Hall.

P.S. If you sign up to volunteer and get a prompt to create a user account, simply email events@cornell.edu. We can easily give you access. This takes a matter of minutes to active your Cornell CampusGroups user account. Please do not create a user account.
