The purpose of The Yellow Paint Society is to highlight the therapeutic capabilities of art, create an awareness of self, provide techniques to aid one’s overall well-being, aid members in understanding their own creative processes, and help members participate in the art making process. Anyone can make art and be involved; we believe that the creative process is a powerful reflection of one’s self and a useful outlet to express emotions, thoughts, and ideas. This club is for the advocacy for wellness and mental health. While we support this field and its presence, this is not official therapy and therefore this club will adhere to a code of ethics allowing for support and confidentiality of its members but will direct those in need of help to a place of proper care (i.e. counseling services and other professional support systems).
