The Cornell Women's Resource Center [WRC] and the sisters Delta Gamma sorority have launched a new annual speaker series entitled REALTalk to debut on Thursday, October 20 at 7:30 PM at Barnes Hall Auditorium. The mission of REALtalk is to present Relatable, Empowering, Authentic Leaders who share candid personal stories to inspire and engage the diverse community of women at Cornell.


2022's inaugural REALtalk will feature Imani McGee-Stafford (former WNBA player and current Southwestern Law School student) and Cameron Rogers (host of "Freckled Foodie & Friends" podcast) who will share their individual journeys to well-being through examples of self-discovery, resilience and grace. These two dynamic and inspiring women will provide thoughtful insights and helpful strategies about improving mental health through self-care.

IMANI MCGEE-STAFFORD – REALtalk speaker
Imani is an abuse survivor, mental health advocate, published poet and self-described unicorn who is well known for her prolific basketball career. After performing at her sport's highest level as a Division 1 athlete at the University of Texas, Austin (from which she graduated with a degree in Accounting), and 4 seasons as a player in the WNBA, Imani reconsidered her life as a professional athlete during the pandemic hiatus and decided to pivot to a career in law. Now in her third year at Southwestern Law School, she plans to use her degree to combat the inequities in social policy as they apply to the black community. With over 55,000 followers, Imani's popular Instagram account can be found @imanitrishawn.

CAMERON ROGERS – REALtalk speaker
Cameron leveraged her hard work and dedication competing as a Division 1 lacrosse player and earning her degree in Economics from Lafayette College to secure what she thought was her ideal job on Wall Street. When a life-altering accident gave her the time and space to consider her future, she pivoted to a career focused on the things she really cares about. For her weekly podcast "Freckled Foodie & Friends," she interviews guests on issues including wellness, mental health, nutritious & delicious recipes and motherhood. Her podcast has logged 165 episodes to date and amassed over 1,000,000 downloads. With over 77,000 followers, Cameron's popular Instagram account can be found @cameronoaksrogers.
