Mission Purpose and Aims:1. The Cornell Sikh Students Association (CSSA) is a multi-purpose organization. It will serve as the voice of Sikh students on campus and allow them the opportunity to practice and express their faith at Cornell.2. CSSA will serve as a platform for members, visitors and the greater student and public population to learn about and discuss Sikhi, as well as pioneer public awareness and education regarding (but not limited to) Sikhi's beliefs, identity, history and the significance of its festivals. More specifically, CSSA will aim to ensure that over time, the majority of Cornell students can comfortably recognize the Sikh identity and are at the least, familiar with its principal values and beliefs.3. CSSA will serve as a forum to openly converse about, bring attention and awareness for and brainstorm and implement solutions to any matters representing Sikh interests, including but not limited to Sikhi, Punjab, Sikh politics and issues affecting the Sikh identity.4. CSSA will strive to form connections, relationships and conferences with other Sikh organizations on an inter-collegiate, national and international level. We will further strive to create connections with Sikh alumni, professionals, or pioneers in any particular field.5. CSSA will work, often in conjunction with other organizations on campus, to promote tolerance, service, inter-faith dialogue and the vision for a common humanity.6. The spirit of sewa, or selfless service, will be one of the core values upon which the organization will function.
